Cambridge City Council

Cambridge City Council serves the city of Cambridge and its population of around 115,000 people. It is responsible for delivering a range of services for all those who live or work in the city as well as visitors to Cambridge. These services include: arts, leisure and recreation; community development and safety; environmental health; housing; local planning and development control; street cleaning, waste collection and recycling; council tax collection and benefits; and customer services.

The East of England Development Agency (EEDA) is one of the nine Regional Development Agencies created by Government in 1999 to focus on economic development and building prosperity in the English regions. Fenland District Council provides a broad range of local services in and around the Cambridgeshire market towns of Chatteris, March, Whittlesey and Wisbech. Joint Development Control

In late 2007 South Cambridgeshire District Council, Cambridge City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council, the three local authorities responsible for planning major growth around Cambridge decided to work more formally in partnership by creating two Joint Development Control Committees to determine the planning applications for the major growth sites.
