Transport Challenges

A key transport challenge facing Cambridgeshire is the timing of strategic projects compared to the timing of major developments - ensuring the right projects come on-stream at the right time.

Cambridgeshire Horizons worked closely with the Local Authorities, Highways Agency and other transport providers to ensure transport infrastructure projects happened in tandem with major new developments to reduce the negative transport impact on the existing community.

Over and above the timing of developments, accessing appropriate funding is the key challenge to making projects happen. Whilst some projects have already received Central Government funding, more is required to bring the entire network up to standard.
