The Busway opens

The Busway and Cycleway, when opened, will give people a reliable, fast and frequent link between Cambridge and the more rural market towns of Huntingdon and St Ives avoiding the long and slow queues on the A14.
Where guided buses travel on normal roads they will use bus priority measures, including new bus lanes and bus priority traffic signals.
If the contractor does not carry out the jobs required on the northern section within a month of completing the whole route Cambridgeshire County Council will be able to step in and do the necessary work claiming the costs back from the contractor under the terms of the contract. Finishing works to the St Ives to Cambridge Busway have not yet been completed which means the route is now due to open at the end of December.

In June 2010 a total of 619 homes were occupied on Orchard Park.
