Why have a Quality Panel?

The Cambridgeshire Quality Panel was established by Cambridgeshire Horizons and its partners to provide a consistent approach to quality review for the major growth sites in Cambridgeshire.

Cambridgeshire local authorities have high aspirations for the quality of the new developments that are being brought forward, as outlined in the Cambridgeshire Quality Charter for Growth, and quality review can play an important role in supporting and challenging the local planning authorities in their quest for high standards.

The proposal for setting up a Quality Panel for Cambridgeshire was taken to Cambridgeshire Horizons Board in September 2009. In March 2010 the Cambridgeshire Horizons team set about recruiting the Panel Members. From 54 applicants, 12 Panel members were selected by a selection of local councillors. Since then the Quality Panel have reviewed a number of schemes and continue to provide advice and assistance to Cambridgeshire Local Authorities.

As of September 2011 the Quality Panel is now being managed by Cambridgeshire County Council.
